[The ground comes up to meet him REAL FAST and he barely has the chance to yelp before he crashes through the window and into it. He's visibly startled as he shifts to look up at Jiang Cheng, but the surprise bleeds out as he talks, merging into a difficult expression that's hard to read. He opens his mouth - closes it again. Don't say it.

Then he won't, but he doesn't know what else to say instead. Like every other time he's at a miraculous loss for words, he seems out of his element - a little like a younger, more uncertain version of himself. Like the kid who'd come to Jiang Cheng just so he could share the last few bites of a coveted fresh slice of watermelon or honey-coated pumpkin.

It's with that same unusual uncertainty that he eventually opens his mouth again, keeping a careful eye on Jiang Cheng's face. The set of his jaw, the furrow at his brow - how quickly he'd managed to wipe that smile right off of it without even trying. Terrible.]
